Walking Corridors and Exhibitions

In the walking corridor of the first balcony, fragments of decor with ethnic belt pattern motifs from 1913 can be seen on the ceiling arches. Discoveries made during the renovation works in 1997–2005 also include the pillars with marble imitation which now are displayed in the foyer of the theatre and the stone plates on each side of the staircase, also from 1913.

The walking area of the audience is used to display several busts of famous performers of the Estonia Theatre, as well as exhibitions. Our signal to mark the end of intervals is taken from the work Pro et Contra by Arvo Pärt, the most performed living composer in the world.

The exhibition ELDOR RENTER 100

The exhibition Eldor Renter 100 is displayed in front of the National Opera and in the audience walking areas on the second and third floors of the theatre house, celebrating the 100th anniversary of the birth of Eldor Renter, the legendary scenographer and the long-time Head Scenographer of the Estonia Theatre. The exhibition includes numerous fascinating historic sketches and costumes designed by Renter.

The exhibition of dance-themed photos by Rünno Lahesoo

An exhibition of photos of dancers and productions of the Estonian National Ballet by the photographer Rünno Lahesoo is displayed in the walking corridor on the third floor. We have a tradition of launching a new exhibition on the International Dance Day each year.
