PERFORMANCE START TIMES

Evening performances in the main hall usually begin at 7:00 PM. Sunday performances begin between 12:00 PM and 5:00 PM, depending on the production.
The theatre building opens 1 hour before the performance starts.
 

IMPORTANT INFORMATION

  • Please arrive at the theatre with sufficient time to find your seat before the performance begins. Latecomers will not be admitted to the auditorium.
  • Audience members who leave the auditorium during the performance may return to their seats after the intermission.
  • Concerts in the Estonia Restaurant and the White Hall, as well as performances in the Chamber Hall, may have different starting times. Please check the relevant event page on our website for details.
  • Please note that productions intended for adults are generally not suitable for children under the age of 5. Please check the recommended age limit on the production page.
  • Please be considerate of others and keep the silence in the auditorium.
  • Please avoid disturbing other visitors in the auditorium (switch off or set mobile phones to airplane mode). Conversations and discussions should be reserved for intermissions.
  • Eating and drinking are not permitted in the auditorium.
  • Bringing your own food and beverages into the theatre is not allowed.
  • THE SCHEDULE AND PUBLISHED CAST OF THE SHOWS ARE SUBJECT TO CHANGES.

SOUVENIRS

The theatre souvenir stand is open 1 hour before performances and during intermissions. A selection of souvenirs is also available at the ticket office during opening hours.
 

SMOKING

Smoking and the use of e-cigarettes are not permitted anywhere on the premises of the Estonian National Opera.
 

ACCESSIBILITY AND PARKING

 

CLOAKROOMS

The theatre provides supervised cloakrooms free of charge. The cloakroom for visitors seated in the Second Balcony is located on the 4th floor. Outdoor clothing is not permitted in the auditoriums.
Dress code: from dark suits to smart casual attire.
 

CAFÉS AND BARS

Estonian National Opera offers snacks as well as hot and cold beverages in four cafés: the White Hall, the Blue Hall, the Harlequin Bar on the Second Balcony, and the Colombina Café on the ground floor.
The cafés open 1 hour before the performance and remain open until the end of the final intermission.
Pre-ordering interval refreshments allows you to enjoy the intermission without waiting in line.

BINOCULAR RENTAL

Theatre binoculars can be rented from the cloakroom for 2 EUR. A deposit of 40 EUR or an identity document is required.
Binoculars are available for rental starting 1 hour before the performance and must be returned after the performance on the same day.
 

BOOSTER CUSHIONS FOR CHILDREN

Booster cushions for children are available free of charge from the theatre cloakroom before the performance and during intermission. The number of booster cushions is limited.
 

SUBTITLES

Opera performances are presented in their original language and usually include Estonian and English subtitles in the auditorium.
Operettas, musicals, and children’s performances are presented in Estonian.

FOR VISITORS WITH SPECIAL NEEDS

Visitors with reduced mobility may park next to the theatre building on G. Ots Street, where two parking spaces are available directly beside the building.
Wheelchair users can access the theatre via the ramp located to the left of the main entrance and use the automated electric door. The entrance leads directly to the theatre foyer, where the cloakroom and ticket office are also located.
Wheelchair users can move between floors using the lift, which provides access to the auditorium, the White Hall café on the first floor, and the Colombina Café on the ground floor.
An accessible restroom is located on the ground floor of the theatre building.
The best possible seating will be arranged for wheelchair users in the auditorium (space is available for up to 4 wheelchairs at a time). Please inform the service staff about wheelchair users when placing your order or purchasing tickets. The theatre is equipped with a lift. Unfortunately, access to the Chamber Hall for wheelchair users is difficult, and there is no accessible restroom there.
Wheelchair users may access the Estonia Restaurant directly from the front entrance of the building. From there, there is direct access to the cloakroom and restaurant without stairs.
For visually impaired and blind visitors, tactile aids and Braille lift signs are available.
The theatre lifts are also equipped with voice announcements. At present, Braille librettos and programmes are available for Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart’s opera “The Magic Flute”.
Braille materials are available for loan from the souvenir stand before the performance.
