The artistic director of the Estonian National Ballet, Linnar Looris, announced the new soloist of the troupe after "The Nutcracker" performance last night – the current junior soloist Akane Ichii.
Akane Ichii studied dancing at the Zurich Dance Academy from 2008 to 2012. From 2012 to 2017, she danced at the Bucharest National Opera (since 2014 as a soloist) and from 2017 to 2018 as a junior soloist at the Czech National Ballet. Akane joined the Estonian National Ballet in 2018.
Her roles include Gulnare and Odalisque in A. Adam's ballet "The Corsair", Serenade in S. Lifar's ballet "Suite en blanc", Klara in P. Tchaikovsky's ballet "The Nutcracker".
