EDUCATION AND WORK
Corby Welch studied at the University of Minnesota with Lawrence Weller and completed his studies with Rudolf Piernay at the Hochschule für Musik in Mannheim. In 2003–2018, he was a member of the Deutsche Oper am Rhein ensemble, where he sung the major roles for lyric tenor such as Mozart’s Belmonte (“Die Entführung aus dem Serail”), Tamino (“Die Zauberflöte”), Don Ottavio (“Don Giovanni”), Tito (“La Clemenza di Tito”) and Prince (Dvořák’s “Rusalka”). Since 2011, he has established himself as one of the promising new dramatic tenors.
