EDUCATION AND WORK
Dmitri Harchenko graduated from Tallinn Ballet School in 1990 (the class of Enn Suve) and in 2003 from Saint Petersburg State Conservatory as a stage director and choreographer of music theatre (the classes of Nikita Dolgushin and Nikolai Boyarchikov). In 1990–2003, Harchenko was a ballet soloist with the Estonian National Opera. In 2009–2017, he was the Chairman of the Board of the Estonian Ballet Union and a member of the Board of the Estonian Theatre Union. 2008–2022 (with intervals) he was a teacher of acting, dancing, classical mis-en-scène and history of contemporary dance. As a guest teacher he has worked in the Tallinn University Choreography Department, Music Theatre Department in the Northern University (Ohio) and various studios in Estonia and abroad. In 2018–2019, he was the General Manager of the Maardu Culture and Info Centre. In 2009, Harchenko created the Tallinn Dance Theatre, being also its artistic director, stage director and producer ever since.
