EDUCATION AND WORK
Iñaki Cobos trained as a dancer and after finishing his studies, he joined the Ballet de la Generalitat Valenciana. In parallel to his career as a performer, he became interested in designing and making costumes for dance and began to receive commissions from institutions such as the Conservatorio Profesional de Danza de Valencia and the Ballet de la Generalitat, as well as from the designer Francis Montesinos. After ending his career as a dancer, he studied costume design at the Centro de Tecnología del Espectáculo in Madrid, finishing his studies in the workshops of the Paris Opera Ballet.
He founded Cobos Vestuario Escénico, a costume workshop for the performing arts specialising in the creation of costumes for ballet, where, as well as designing, he also creates costumes for other costume designers. Among the commissions the workshop has received, it is worth mentioning the costumes for “El Abrecartas” (2019) and “Rusalka” (2020) Teatro Real and the ballet “The Nutcracker” (2018) for the Compañía Nacional de Danza.
