Tambet Kikas

EDUCATION AND WORK
In 2012, Tambet Kikas participated in the Estonian National Opera youth project “OPERAtion VOX” after which he began studying singing in the Georg Ots Tallinn Music College with Tarmo Sild. In 2016, he continued his studies as a BA student in Royal Conservatoire of Scotland with Julian Tovey and since 2020, he studies in the Estonian Academy of Music and Theatre with Taavi Tampuu. He also sang in the Savonlinna Opera Festival Chorus (2015) and in Bayreuth Festspiele Chorus (2019). Since the season 2020/21 he is a member of the Estonian National Opera Chorus and also participates in the productions of Vanemuine Theatre.

ACKNOWLEDGEMENTS
In 2015, he participated in Mart Saar Singing Competition (2nd place) and in 2017 he took part in Kathleen Ferrier Junior Bursary (semi-finalist). In the summer of 2017, he won the Winnie Busfield Award and in 2020 Edith Brass Award to hone his skills in Lied singing. Special prize at the Mirjam Helin Opera Singers’ Competition 2022.
