Leslie Stuck

Leslie Stuck (b. 1953) is an American composer and sound artist known for his contributions to the fusion of electronic music and dance. He has composed music for several world-renowned choreographers, including William Forsythe, Jiří Kylián, and David Parsons. From 1986 to 1990, Stuck worked with the Frankfurt Ballet, where he played a key role in shaping the sonic language of contemporary ballet. His compositions are characterised by the use of electronic soundscapes and complex rhythms, creating a deep connection between movement and music. His works have been performed by prestigious ballet companies such as the New York City Ballet, Paris Opera Ballet, and Tokyo Ballet.
In addition to dance music, Stuck has created sound designs for film, television, and art installations. He has collaborated with artists like Frank Zappa and Ensemble Modern and has taught electronic music at Mills College. Stuck is also known for his work at IRCAM (Institut de Recherche et Coordination Acoustique/Musique) in Paris, where he served as assistant to Pierre Boulez on the piece “...explosante-fixe...” (1993).
Since 2019, Stuck has worked as Senior Audio Technologist at Meow Wolf, where he has created immersive sound environments for exhibitions in Las Vegas and Denver. His work blends technological innovation with artistic expression, offering audiences unique and engaging sonic experiences.
