Marc Ribaud

Marc Ribaud is a French choreographer, ballet master known for his significant contributions to both classical and contemporary ballet. Born in Nice, he trained at the Académie de Danse Classique Princesse Grace and won the Prix de Lausanne in 1985. Ribaud danced with several major European companies, including the Bonn Opera Ballet and Deutsche Oper am Rhein, before turning to choreography.
In 1997, Ribaud was appointed Artistic Director of the Ballet de l’Opéra de Nice, a position he held for nine years. There, he created full-length productions including “Coppélia”, “Romeo and Juliet”, “La Fille mal gardée”, “The Nutcracker”, “Carmen”, and “Cinderella”.
He also served as Artistic Director of the Royal Swedish Ballet (2008–2011), where he created and curated a broad repertoire. Since 2018, he has been a Ballet Master at Stuttgart Ballet. Ribaud has also worked extensively as a guest choreographer and teacher worldwide and has choreographed for several major opera houses.
