Mari Visnapuumägi
(pianist)
Mari Visnapuumägi finished Tartu Music School No. 1 and Heino Eller Music College. She obtained her MA in interpretation of piano music from the Estonian Academy of Music and Theatre in 2016 and in vocal chamber music and accompaniment in 2018 (cum laude). While studying, she worked as a pianist both at the Heino Eller Music College and Estonian Academy of Music and Theatre and furthered her education at the Göteborg Music and Theatre Academy as well as attended various masterclasses.
Since 2018, she works as a pianist at the Pärnu Music Festival Järvi Academy and is one of its organisers since 2020. In 2016–2021, she was a pianist at the Hanna-Liina Võsa Music School and currently is involved with her Broadway and musical education courses. In 2009–2019, she was the chorus pianist/orchestra pianist of the Scheersbergi German-Scandinavian Music Week.
As a freelance pianist, Visnapuumägi works with various singers, choruses, composers and instrumentalists both as a classical music pianist and free accompaniment. Being a soloist and interpreting chamber music is also of high importance for her. In 2022, she recorded a CD “24 Coloured Preludes for the Piano” together with Joosep Trumm. Currently she teaches in a piano studio named after her in Tallin Old Town.
