Merit Männiste

Merit Männiste is a singer, actress and singing teacher. Merit studied the piano and the violin in the Tallinn Music High School and majored as a chorus conductor and classical singer. She graduated from the Estonian Academy of Music and Theatre as a chorus conductor and obtained her Master’s degree in singing pedagogy (she graduated cum laude). Merit sings the title role in the musical “Pippi Longstocking” and plays the Little Red Riding Hood in a children’s production. Merit also starred as Dusk at the 12th Youth Singing and Dancing Festival. She is a winner of numerous singing competitions. She performs as a soloist and as a member of Männiste Family Ensemble that includes also her brother Märten and father Kaupo. Merit has dubbed numerous cartoons and made voice-overs for commercials. In the mystical series of “Doll House” (Kanal 2), she personified the rebellious Mariann. She has also sung the role of Malviina in Ehala’s musical “Buratino” (Viimsi Happy Jazz Festival). She works in Kullo as a conductor of the preparatory chorus of Ellerhein and as a music teacher in Kindluse School.
