EDUCATION AND WORK
After winning the first prize of the National Conservatory of Music of Rouen four times, Pierre-Emmanuel Rousseau begins his theatre career working with directors, such as Jean-Claude Auvray, John Dew, Stéphane Braunschweig, Jérôme Deschamps and Macha Makeieff. In 2010, he directed and designed André Grétry’s opera “L’Amant Jaloux” in the Royal Opera of Versailles and Opéra-Comique. The production received unanimous praise both by the critics and the audience. It was broadcast on Mezzo and France2 and is now available on a DVD. Since 2013, Pierre-Emmanuel Rousseau has developed a regular collaboration with the TOBS-Biel, where he staged, created the sets and costumes for Rossini’s “Il turco in Italia”, “Viva la mamma” (revival in Basel and Treviso, 2015) and “Le Comte Ory” as well as Donizetti’s “Don Pasquale”.
