Priit Võigemast graduated in 2002 from the Estonian Academy of Music and Theatre, where he completed the 20th class of the Drama School. After graduating, he worked at the Estonian Drama Theatre and later at the Tallinn City Theatre, where he became one of the leading male actors. Võigemast has appeared in numerous films, including “Names in Marble” (2002), “Truth and Justice” (2019), and “Erik Stoneheart” (2022). In addition to his work in theatre and film, he has also acted in television series and been active as a director. His directorial works include “Terrorism” by Vladimir and Oleg Presnyakov (2004, Ugala Theatre), “norway.today” by Bauersima (2006, Ugala Theatre), “The Push” by Jellicoe (2007, Tallinn City Theatre), “For Hecuba” (2009, Tallinn City Theatre), “See You Tomorrow” (2010, Tallinn City Theatre), “The End of the Chain” by Piik (2012, Tallinn City Theatre), “Hamlet” by Shakespeare (2012, Tallinn City Theatre), “Melujanu” by Schmidt/Piik/Kalmet/Võigemast (2015, Tallinn City Theatre), “Gender: F” (2015, Tallinn City Theatre), “Monument” by Mayenburg (2018, Von Krahl Theatre), “Bang” (2021, Kinoteater), “Experiments on Life” (2021, Estonian Drama Theatre), and “The Great Flood” (2023, Tallinn City Theatre).

He has received numerous awards, including the Voldemar Panso Prize (2000), the Crystal Shoe Award (2004), the Ants Lauter Prize (2010), the Annual Award of the Cultural Endowment of Estonia’s Audiovisual Arts Endowment (2019), the Estonian Film and Television Award for his role as Viljo in the series “Alo” (2019), the Clear Speaker Award (2020), the Estonian Theatre Union’s Best Male Lead Award for “The Lehman Brothers” and “Crime and Punishment” (Estonian Drama Theatre), and the Order of the White Star, 4th Class (2025).
