Rosita Raud

Rosita Raud is a renowned Estonian stage designer, visual artist, and photographer. She graduated in 1987 from the Leningrad State Institute of Theatre, Music and Cinematography, specialising in puppet theatre set design. Since then, she has lived and worked in Tallinn, Estonia.

Raud has created over 80 stage designs and, since 2017, has served as the chief designer at the Estonian Youth Theatre. Her work spans from puppet theatre to major drama productions, often blending traditional puppetry techniques with innovative approaches in performances for both children and adults.

Beyond theatre, Raud has also explored installation art and photography. Her artistic journey has taken her on expeditions to countries such as Japan, Indochina, Indonesia, and Malaysia, enriching her visual language with diverse cultural influences. She has also contributed to the academic field through teaching engagements in various higher education institutions.
In 2024, she received the inaugural ELDOR Award from the Estonian Association of Stage Designers, recognising her outstanding contributions to the field.
