EDUCATION AND WORK
Silja Aalto obtained her Master’s degree from the Sibelius Academy in 2018 (the class of Eeva-Liisa Saarinen). Aalto made her opera debut in the Estonian National Opera in April 2018 as Countess Almaviva in Mozart’s “Le nozze di Figaro”.
ACKNOWLEDGEMENTS
She is a Grand Prize winner of the Metropolitan Vocal Competition and a Grand Prize winner of Lyra New York International Vocal Competition (both in 2017). In the same year, she won the 2nd prize at the International Elizabeth Connell Competition and the 1st prize in the Lied category. In April 2017, Aalto won the 2nd prize at the PLMF vocal competition and she is also the winner of Toivo Kuula singing competition of 2016.
